Registered Dental Hygienists (RDHs) are licensed dental health providers who perform preventative services such as dental cleanings, periodontal soft tissue therapy, and practice independently of the dentist rather than alongside of them.

Let's take a look at Whitney DiFoggio's day as a dental hygienist! 

what inspired you to become a dental hygienist?

Always loved going to the dentist as a kid! I liked my dental (total girl boss awesome person) and simply wanted to be just like her! Once I started observing/shadowing offices - realized I was more interested in the preventive part of dentistry - and here I am!

what does your day look like? 

10:00am

What does your morning typically consist of? 

Whitney:
Yoga/Breakfast/Shower/Get Ready (sometimes read during breakfast if there is time)

12:00pm

What does your start of the work day look like?

Whitney:
Getting my op setup and reviewing my schedule of patients.

Lunch

What does your lunch/break/halfway point look like?:

Whitney:
Non existent...sometimes I get a break if I'm running ahead of schedule or if there's a cancellation.

8:00pm

What does your end of workday look like?

Whitney:
Finishing up notes, cleaning up my op, and helping clean up the sterilization area.

what are you doing outside of work?

Whitney:
doing yoga and watching movies and creating dental health videos for my YouTube channel :)

outside of work who is your biggest influence/ inspiration? 

Whitney:
Beyonce and Kate McKinnon!

are you working on anything fun or creative? 

Whitney:
currently turning a room in my house into a faux-dental office for filming my YouTube videos!
